Job Title: Proposal Development Officer

Job Summary:

The University of Waterloo is seeking a highly skilled Proposal Development Officer to join our team. As a key member of our research support team, you will play a critical role in advancing the Faculty's strategic research interests through the production of high-quality research proposals and award nominations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and write research proposals and award nominations to advance the Faculty's strategic research initiatives
  • Review and edit research proposals and award nominations to ensure accuracy, clarity, and persuasiveness
  • Coordinate proposal preparation for individual and multi-author applications, including progress monitoring and review and editing through all stages
  • Facilitate internal and external nominations for faculty and student awards
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives in the Mathematics research portfolio

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field required, with a Master's degree preferred
  • Education or training in a discipline of Mathematics, Engineering, or Science is required
  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a technical writing role, with experience in research-driven academic environments
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, with ability to write for broad audiences
  • Well-developed editorial skills, including experience in copy editing
  • Excellent research skills, with ability to compile and integrate relevant information from a broad range of sources
