Job Summary

As a Food Service Supervisor, Seasonal, you will assist the Manager on duty with the coordination of activities of associates within the food service department while maintaining the highest standards and levels of customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise multiple food service units to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences.
  • Oversee the production of menu items, manage cash readings, and schedule staff working hours to optimize productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Shift Manager to resolve labor relation issues, track and produce reports on weekly inventories, sales revenue, labor, and food costs.
  • Communicate effectively with café patrons, addressing their concerns promptly and ensuring a positive experience.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Compass Canada's Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and WHMIS regulations.
  • Coordinate frequent workplace inspections and WHMIS training for all staff, reporting any workplace accidents or incidents to head office.
  • Implement Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards in the food preparation process to ensure food safety.

Requirements

  • At least one year of strong operation food industry management experience.
  • FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.
  • Comprehensive health and safety knowledge and training.
  • Knowledge of food service catering.
  • Strong supervisory skills and the ability to motivate and lead staff.
  • Employee relations experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
