**Job Summary**

Tony Gee and Partners is seeking a highly skilled Senior Geotechnics Engineer to join our team in Toronto. As a key member of our geotechnical design team, you will be responsible for managing the design delivery of various geotechnical projects and providing technical oversight to ensure high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design delivery of geotechnical projects, including geotechnical elements of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Coordinate with other engineers to provide technical oversight and ensure project success
  • Support the Managing Director in achieving budget and strategy targets
  • Prepare fee budgets, proposals, and resource requirements for projects
  • Prepare calculations, drawings, and other documents to ensure project execution
  • Support less experienced staff, sharing knowledge and acting as a coach or mentor
  • Establish standard methodologies for geotechnical design and improve our practice

Requirements:

  • Minimum of eight years' experience post-graduation in geotechnical design
  • Minimum of five years' experience in the design of geotechnical elements of infrastructure in a rail environment, including Canadian standards
  • Experience in heavy civil geotechnical engineering applications, including foundations, deep excavations, slope stability, and numerical analysis
  • Experience in computer software for geotechnical analysis
  • Production of design deliverables and supervision of engineers and BIM/CAD technicians

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working on Ministry of Transportation projects
  • AutoCAD skills
  • Experience as a PEng on Metrolinx projects
  • Good communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to work independently and within a team to meet project objectives
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and develop their technical abilities
  • A challenging attitude to solving engineering problems to achieve cost-effective designs and innovative solutions
  • Awareness of the importance of costs and the need to complete projects on time and to budget
  • Willingness to seek advice when unsure of how to tackle problems

Qualifications:

  • Professional Engineer (PEng) licence in Ontario with MEng/BEng in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering or similar
