Program Objective:

The Labourer Trainee Program at Dyno Nobel Canada Inc. aims to enhance the representation of women in our Retail Sales & Operations locations in Newfoundland and Labrador. Recognizing the historical underrepresentation of women in the mining and explosives sectors, this initiative seeks to offer entry-level positions to women who may not have considered applying for existing roles. No prior experience is necessary, as comprehensive training will be provided to all participants.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Exhibit strong work ethics and a positive demeanor.
  • Capable of reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English.
  • Present oneself professionally in the workplace.
  • Ability to successfully complete required background checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize equipment, including hand tools, to support team efforts, ensuring timely, safe, and quality service and products for customers.
  • Conduct basic maintenance on assigned equipment to ensure reliability and safety.
  • Monitor gauges and adjust equipment as necessary to maintain optimal performance and ensure quality product delivery.
  • Assist team members on-site to safely meet customer needs.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain safe working conditions in all environments, including shops, magazines, and blast sites, to protect personal and team safety.
  • Report any incidents or hazardous conditions to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Actively engage in safety programs by participating in training sessions and safety meetings.
