About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Virtual Construction Student to join our team in the Toronto district, within our Canadian Buildings Division. As a Virtual Construction Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by working on various projects and developing your skills in construction technology, building information modeling, and project management.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate site plans using AutoCAD and other software tools.
  • Contribute to the development of construction schedules and site layout documents, including site safety, site access, and temporary infrastructure.
  • Assist in the creation of tower crane and man/material hoist working drawings, including plans, elevations, and sections.
  • Format plot styles and AutoCAD settings to achieve desired design effects.
  • Prepare job report binders for supervisors and create new work order forms.
  • Become familiar with building information modeling (BIM) software, including Autodesk, NavisWorks, ArchiCAD/Constructor, Revit, 3D Studio Max, and Sketchup.
  • Become familiar with scheduling programs, including Navisworks and Primavera P6 EPPM.
Qualifications
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of AutoCAD and application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting.
