The Horizontal Infrastructure (HI) Business Unit at Morrison Hershfield has been instrumental in delivering some of the most significant infrastructure initiatives in Canada. We are dedicated to achieving excellence in quality while addressing the specific requirements of our clients. Our team, composed of Planners, Engineers, and Contract Administrators, is focused on providing infrastructure solutions that contribute to economic and social advancement.

Our national HI group is comprised of skilled engineers, technicians, and support staff, all of whom bring diverse expertise in design and construction. This team is committed to delivering superior technical work and exceptional customer service, earning a stellar reputation through the successful execution of multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of roadway design and transportation planning initiatives.
  • Create engineering designs and schematics utilizing computer-aided design software.
  • Develop construction contract documentation and engineering specifications.
  • Conduct transportation engineering analyses and quantification tasks.
  • Perform inspections on civil construction projects.
  • Coordinate the execution of transportation projects with both internal and external project teams.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Eligibility for E.I.T., P.Eng. or C.E.T. designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in roadway design and/or transportation planning.
  • Familiarity with transportation engineering principles and design standards.
  • Proficient in computer-aided design programs, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Experience with traffic modeling software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, or EMME/3) is advantageous.
  • Experience in civil construction projects is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce high-quality work.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
