Job Summary

Morrison Hershfield, a leading infrastructure consulting firm, is seeking a skilled Transportation Engineer/Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our Horizontal Infrastructure Business Unit, you will play a critical role in delivering outstanding quality and meeting our clients' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of road/highway design and transportation planning projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

  • Prepare engineering designs and drawings using computer-aided design tools, such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

  • Develop and prepare construction contract documents and engineering specifications, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Perform transportation engineering analysis and quantification tasks, utilizing traffic modeling software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, or EMME/3) as needed.

  • Conduct civil construction project inspections, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

  • Coordinate the delivery of transportation projects with internal and external project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

Requirements

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology.

  • Eligibility for E.I.T., P.Eng., or C.E.T. designation is an asset.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in roadway design and/or transportation planning.

  • Knowledgeable in the application of transportation engineering principles and design standards.

  • Proficient in the use of computer-aided design programs, including AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

  • Knowledge in traffic modeling software (HCS, Synchro, VISSIM, or EMME/3) would be an asset.

  • Civil construction project experience would be an asset.

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to generate high-quality work.

  • Ability to work both individually and as a member of a larger team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
