Job Title: Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician to join our team at the Community Health & Services Centre in Kelowna, B.C.

About the Role:

This relief position is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated professional to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients. As a Mental Health and Substance Use Clinician, you will work closely with our interdisciplinary team to provide case management services to high-risk youth with problematic substance use, concurrent disorders, and/or mental illness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide assessment, treatment, and service coordination for clients with complex needs
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and their families
  • Work closely with community partners to provide wrap-around services for clients
  • Utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills, group facilitation techniques, experiential education techniques, crisis intervention, and suicide risk assessment and intervention

Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of substance use and its effects
  • Knowledge of adolescent cognitive, social, emotional, interpersonal development
  • Training in Motivational Interviewing (MI) skills, group facilitation techniques, experiential education techniques, crisis intervention, and suicide risk assessment and intervention
  • Previous experience working directly with youth and community MHSU
