We are seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker to provide essential care and assistance to our residents at Broadview Nursing Centre. This role is crucial in ensuring the comfort and well-being of our patients.
Educational Requirements- Completion of a college, CEGEP, or equivalent non-university program lasting 1 to 2 years.
The position is based in a nursing home or senior care facility, where you will engage with residents in a supportive and nurturing atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities- Assist patients in participating in outdoor recreational activities.
- Provide various forms of personal care to enhance patient comfort.
- Manage bedpan supply and disposal.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Support patients with mobility tasks such as lifting, turning, and positioning.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient rooms.
- Oversee and guide patients during their exercise routines.
- Keep track of and replenish care supplies as needed.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, and grooming of patients.
- Respond promptly to patient call signals to address their needs.
- Provide first aid during emergencies.
Ability to manage weights up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
