Nursing Care Assistant Job Description

Broadview Nursing Centre is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Care Assistant to join our team. As a Nursing Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accompany residents on outdoor recreational activities to promote physical and mental well-being
  • Perform various tasks related to patient care and comfort, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Supply and empty bed pans, and maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Take residents' blood pressure, temperature, and pulse, and weigh, lift, turn, and position them as needed
  • Make beds and maintain residents' rooms to ensure a comfortable living space
  • Supervise residents' exercise routines and maintain inventory of supplies
  • Administer first aid in emergency situations and answer call signals to determine residents' needs
Requirements:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a nursing home or similar setting
  • Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills
  • Client focus, dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, and team player
