Position Highlights

Successful candidates will be integrated into a team of mechanical technologists renowned for their expertise in designing intricate industrial piping systems. This position will primarily operate from our Fredericton, NB office, catering to clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Utilize design expertise to create or oversee the creation of contract drawings, sketches, and conceptual designs through to construction.
  • Collaborate with members of the Mechanical group, other disciplines, and clients to ensure project success.
  • Participate in project design teams and carry out assigned tasks effectively.
  • Communicate efficiently with team members to foster collaboration.
  • Lead and manage the mechanical components of projects.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and support to team members.
  • Prepare detailed drawings using AutoCAD and Plant 3D 2021.
  • Engage in 3D modeling and design of piping and mechanical systems.
  • Collect and validate data within client facilities.
  • Produce isometric drawings and represent field activities while interpreting drawings.

Qualifications

Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in the industrial consulting sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of guiding project teams.
  • Strong collaborative skills when working within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with Stantec's Employee Health and Safety (EH&S) program.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office is advantageous.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Education and Experience

A technical diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required, along with at least 8 years of relevant experience.

This role typically involves working in an office environment with extended periods of computer use. Fieldwork may involve exposure to various environmental conditions.
