Job Summary:

The Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and overhauls on heavy-duty equipment. This includes diagnosing faults, adjusting equipment, and replacing defective parts. The successful candidate will also be responsible for keeping maintenance records and ensuring that all work meets manufacturers' specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Perform other routine maintenance
Requirements:
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in heavy-duty equipment maintenance and repair
  • Other trades certificate or diploma
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Willing to travel
  • Physically demanding work environment
