Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician to join our team at A & A EXCAVATING LTD. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing heavy-duty equipment, including heavy trucks, to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Perform other routine maintenance
Specializations
  • Diesel engine repair specialization: fuel injection system, exhaust system, cooling system, lubrication system, engine control system, major internal engine repairs or overhaul, installation and alignment of engines and machinery
  • Powered equipment repair specialization: hydraulic-operated working attachments, compressors
  • Mechanical maintenance and repair specialization: mechanical transmissions, drive trains and final drives, hydraulic transmissions, tracked vehicle suspensions and steering, off-road vehicle tires and wheels, differentials, brake system
Requirements
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Willing to travel
  • Physically demanding

  • Manual dexterity
  • Overtime required
