Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team supporting post-COVID-19 clinical follow-up and research projects. This role will involve a diverse range of responsibilities, encompassing sample management, laboratory procedures, and data analysis.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records within the biobank database.
- Manage and organize samples within the biobank system.
- Process human biological samples according to established protocols in a controlled environment (e.g., plasma isolation, PBMC isolation, DNA and RNA extraction, aliquoting).
- Prepare various solutions and media required for laboratory experiments.
- Demonstrate proficiency in cell culture techniques.
- Utilize flow cytometry for data acquisition and analysis.
- Apply molecular biology techniques such as Western blot, PCR, qPCR, and ELISA.
- Collaborate with researchers in handling animal models (e.g., mice) for translational studies.
- Contribute to microbiology procedures, including aerobic and anaerobic culture, media preparation, and confocal microscopy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant scientific field.
- Functional bilingualism (English and French).
- Exceptional organizational skills, autonomy, and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to learn and utilize specialized software (e.g., REDCAP, Freezerworks).
