MPE Engineering Ltd. is a leading provider of industry-leading services to clients on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and the Sunshine Coast. We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, and test PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems
  • Commission and start up control systems on-site
  • Provide remote and on-site support for control system troubleshooting
  • Work with contractors to implement control system upgrades
  • Assess existing control systems and develop upgrade strategies
  • Implement secure network and remote access schemes
  • Develop and deliver training programs for clients

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing or certification with EGBC/ASTTBC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Background in electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Experience with municipal water and wastewater systems
  • Experience with a variety of automation software and hardware systems
  • Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Willingness to travel for maintenance and commissioning tasks
