Job Title: Automation Professional

At MPE Engineering Ltd., we are seeking a highly skilled Automation Professional to join our team. As an Automation Professional, you will play a key role in providing industry-leading services to our clients on Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, and the Sunshine Coast.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, program, and test PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA systems
  • Commission and start up control systems on-site
  • Support local clients by troubleshooting control systems via remote access or on-site
  • Work and coordinate with contractors to implement control system upgrades
  • Assess existing control systems and develop upgrade strategies
  • Implement secure network and remote access schemes
  • Educate clients on control system operation and maintenance
Requirements:
  • Degree or Diploma in a related field from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Licensed or eligible for licensing or certification with EGBC / ASTTBC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Background in electrical & instrumentation systems
  • Experience with municipal water & wastewater systems
  • Experience with a variety of automation software and hardware systems
  • Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team
  • Willingness to travel for maintenance and commissioning tasks

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $110,000 per year, depending on experience.
