Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies to meet business needs.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage purchase orders, expediting when necessary, to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Analyze and implement inventory management systems to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements, and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Customer Service to ensure seamless communication and delivery of goods and services.
  • Make alternate arrangements in the event of shortages or delayed deliveries to minimize impact on the organization.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in material management or business.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to use Word, Excel, ERP, and Microsoft Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision and respond appropriately in pressure situations.
Working Conditions
  • Salary: $65,000 to $80,000 annually.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Work on site at the plant as many days as required.
  • Overtime as required.
