Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Healthcare Unit Coordinator to support our Vascular Surgery team.

This role involves providing essential administrative support to enhance patient care delivery.

Responsibilities of the Healthcare Unit Coordinator include:

Collaborating within a team environment to perform clerical and receptionist duties that facilitate client care. Prioritizing client and family needs in all interactions. Executing a variety of administrative tasks such as: transcribing and managing physicians' orders, liaising with other departments and facilities to coordinate patient appointments and transport, organizing patient tests and processing results, welcoming visitors and managing phone communications, while prioritizing requests. Compiling and maintaining patient records, as well as arranging admissions and discharges. Performing timekeeping duties and compiling relevant statistics. Typing and distributing various reports and documents. Managing inventory of office supplies and ensuring efficient filing systems.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

Completion of Grade 12, along with medical terminology training and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk program, plus one (1) year of recent, relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills & Competencies

Strong verbal and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role. Proficiency in typing at least 40 words per minute. Strong organizational skills. Ability to operate relevant equipment. Proficiency in utilizing various computer software applications.

Additional Information

Work hours, including days off and work areas, may be subject to change based on operational needs and applicable agreements. Successful candidates may be required to undergo a Criminal Records Review Check.
