The Institute for Performance and Learning is seeking a highly skilled Learning and Development Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in creating and enabling employees to acquire deep expertise within the therapeutic areas they are responsible for.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, preferably in diabetes or cardio-metabolic health, and a passion for customer-centric selling. They will be responsible for providing initial and ongoing training of the sales force on foundational skills and knowledge, conducting field visits to provide coaching and assess training needs, and designing, developing, and implementing sales training to build clinical confidence and product knowledge.

The Learning and Development Consultant will work closely with internal cross-functional partners, such as marketing, medical, and sales, to identify gaps and desired learning outcomes, and will be responsible for creating annual brand learning plans to support learning activities throughout the year. They will also be responsible for evaluating and consistently updating learning programs and content, and for developing sales training materials for clinical confidence and product training.

The successful candidate will have excellent facilitation and communication skills, both written and verbal, and will be proficient in presentation and facilitation skills that optimize the transfer of knowledge to adult learners. They will also have experience working within or knowledge of the relevant therapeutic area, and will be highly skilled in project management and Microsoft Office tools.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Act as Business Partner:
    Leverage effective relationships with key business partners in marketing, sales, and medical to identify gaps and desired learning outcomes, that inform the delivery of appropriate training resources to the sales force.
  2. Training:
    Provide initial and ongoing training of the sales force on foundational skills and knowledge, conduct field visits to provide coaching and assess training needs, and design, develop, and implement sales training to build clinical confidence and product knowledge.
  3. Learning Solutions:
    Use Adult Learning, Blended Learning, and Modern Learning Principles to perform needs and gap assessments, make recommendations for appropriate learning interventions, design, develop, and implement sales training, evaluate and consistently update learning programs and content, create annual brand learning plans, facilitate training programs for the sales force, and develop sales training materials for clinical confidence and product training.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree
  2. Minimum of 3 years sales experience, preferably in Diabetes or cardio-metabolic health
  3. Experience and passion for customer-centric selling approach/philosophy
  4. Excellent facilitation & communication skills, both written and verbal
  5. Bilingualism (French and English) is an important asset
  6. Ability to connect with a broad range of audiences and ability to leverage use of virtual training platforms
  7. Experience working within or knowledge of the relevant therapeutic area
  8. Highly skilled in project management and Microsoft Office tools – Excel, PPT, Word, Teams etc.
  9. Strong influence, communication, and networking skills to build relationships with cross-functional leadership and peers
  10. High energy, drive, and enthusiasm towards delivering excellence in capability work and experiences
  11. Proven decision-making and critical thinking skills to help guide strategic and tactical planning
