We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Sales and Event Development Representative at the Mississauga Convention Centre. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing event business and promoting our brand.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute an aggressive sales strategy to achieve existing and annual sales goals.
- Prepare weekly sales summaries for review, highlighting successes and areas for improvement.
- Build and maintain a client base, focusing on inbound sales opportunities, repeat business, and long-term partnerships.
- Follow up with clients post-event to ensure positive experiences and gather feedback.
- Input, tag, and maintain client relationships via our CRM system.
- Manage bookings to optimize revenue across all venues.
- Align with clients on event feasibility, forecasts, pricing, and special offers.
- Coordinate event details with clients, ensuring timely payment and effective communication.
- Act as a liaison between clients and business operators, communicating event details effectively.
- Develop relationships with key stakeholders outside of the business.
- Attend, lead, and participate in outside networking events, tradeshows, and activations to build a book of prospects.
- Develop a sales strategy to achieve personal and organizational sales goals and revenues, coordinating sales activities.
- Conduct sales calls, prospecting activities, and entertaining.
- 2-3 years of experience in Event Management and/or Sales in the Hospitality and/or events industry.
- Experience selling and designing events in a hospitality setting across multiple markets.
- Experience with actively prospecting and cold calling.
- Ability to thrive in a goal-oriented environment.
- A passion for exceeding customer expectations and providing positive shareable experiences.
- Demonstrate superior relationship building, selling, and strong communication skills.
- An understanding of venue operations, food and beverage, and event planning.
- Proven success with implementing sales growth strategies.
- Highly organized, proactive, and efficient.
- Hands-on individual with initiative and problem-solving skills.
- High acumen to detail and accuracy of data and information.
- Proven track record for making significant contributions to a growing business.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to successfully interact with employees.
- Professional communication skills, both written and oral.
- Proficient with computer systems, including CRM's.
