Job Title: IT Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Systems Administrator to join our team at FC Edmonton. As a key member of our Information Technology department, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support to our staff and ensuring the reliability and security of our IT systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • System Administration: Ensure the reliable operation of our servers, networks, software, and telecommunications systems.
  • Technical Support: Provide expert troubleshooting and support for hardware and software issues, acting as an escalation point for complex cases and minimizing downtime.
  • System Security: Manage security solutions, perform regular audits, and stay updated on potential threats.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance: Use tools like Checkmk to proactively identify and address potential system issues, and perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure system integrity.
  • Backup and Recovery: Manage backup processes and disaster recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
  • Cloud Application Support: Provide support for Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Adobe products.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with our IT team on projects and provide assistance to non-technical staff as needed.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: Minimum of a 2-year post-secondary diploma or certificate in Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Experience: 8+ years of experience in IT systems administration, providing advanced support in a medium-to-large organization.
  • Skills: Expertise in managing network infrastructure, virtualization (XCP-NG), and cloud services (Azure, Google Workspace). Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Linux Ubuntu, Office 365, Active Directory, GPOs, Firewalls, VLAN, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and HP Switches.
  • Leadership and Communication: Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a demonstrated ability to guide and develop junior team members. Excellent problem-solving abilities, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing solutions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Certifications: Certifications in relevant IT areas (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate – MCSA, ITIL Foundation) are an asset.
