Job Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate DataOps engineer to join our dynamic team in the Grow division of Unity. Our goal is to ensure operational stability, performance, and cost-effectiveness of our cloud-based data infrastructure, serving both internal and external users.

As a DataOps engineer, you will maintain and improve the stability of our data infrastructure on Kubernetes (AWS EKS and GCP GKE). You will optimize our data services for performance and cost, handling on-call tasks to ensure continuous service availability. You will also contribute to the development of our Druid and Streaming services, improving their stability, cost, and performance.

If you enjoy optimizing high-traffic data systems, this role is for you, as you will join a dynamic team using cutting-edge technologies to manage large-scale data transfers, ensuring minimal production issues while having a significant impact on Unity's data infrastructure.

What You Will Do

  • Improve the stability of Druid, Streaming, Iceberg, Trino, and MySQL infrastructures
  • Participate in on-call rotations for these infrastructures
  • Focus on cost reduction, performance improvement, and monitoring
  • Develop Python scripts
  • Collaborate with clients

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience working in an operations team (DevOps or DataOps) with Python development and cloud infrastructure on-call experience, either on AWS, GCP, or Azure
  • Experience with AWS and GCP
  • Experience with k8s (on AWS EKS or GCP GKE)
  • Experience with real-time data streaming technologies (Spark Streaming, Spark Structured Streaming, or Flink)
  • Experience with databases (Druid, Trino)

You May Also Have

  • Good development skills in Scala or Python
  • Good understanding of Linux system administration
  • Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
