The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead a team of technicians in a fast-paced technical environment.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize, schedule, and coordinate the work of technicians to ensure efficient completion of tasks related to inspection, testing, and repair of electrical equipment.
- Oversee and lead work performed by laboratory technicians, ensuring compliance with safety practices, procedures, and industry standards.
- Provide training, work direction, and guidance to technicians to ensure they perform their duties effectively.
- Assist subordinates with problem-solving and support the implementation of corporate training programs.
- Evaluate products for testing, investigate standards and testing methods, and create and maintain testing procedures for electrical equipment.
- Determine the need for and recommend the purchase of tools, equipment, materials, and supplies.
- Operate a variety of tools and equipment to perform tasks safely, efficiently, and effectively.
- Communicate with customers on important issues and update them on the progress of work related to their equipment.
- Post-secondary education or equivalent work experience or trades certificate(s)
- Minimum five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver's license
- Trade certificate(s)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong computer skills - MS Office
- Knowledge of applicable industry standards, including ASTM, IEEE, CSA, and CUL
