Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Emergency Management Co-op Student to join our team at Trans Mountain. As a key member of our Emergency Management team, you will assist in the development and maintenance of our Emergency Management Program documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the creation and updating of Emergency Response Plans, Geographic Response Plans, and other related Emergency Management documentation.
  • Support the Emergency Management Training and Exercise Program by coordinating logistics and representing the team during exercise events.
  • Conduct inventory and analysis of emergency response equipment and Go-Boxes to ensure Trans Mountain maintains its state of emergency readiness.
  • Assist in business continuity workshops and updating of business continuity plans.
  • Support data management, capture, analysis, and reporting for the Emergency Management Program.
  • Participate in field-based activities, including spill response control point evaluations.
Qualifications and Professional Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Business Continuity, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Experience with public speaking and event planning is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft systems, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
Other Requirements and Information
  • Ability to travel occasionally during the work term.
  • Competitive hourly rate of $22.42 to $30.07 CAD.
