Project Manager - Long-Term Care Redevelopment

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, implementation, and tracking of long-term care redevelopment and Capex projects. The successful candidate will possess the knowledge, experience, and confidence to engage and professionally interact with design professionals and consultants, while successfully directing construction-related personnel in planning, coordinating, and safely executing work in accordance with contract documents, schedule, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define the scope of the project in collaboration with the Vice President of Development
  • Create a detailed work plan that identifies and sequences the activities needed to successfully complete the project
  • Determine resources required to complete the project
  • Develop a schedule for project completion that effectively allocates resources to activities
  • Review project schedule with senior management and all other staff that will be affected by the project activities; revise the schedule as required
  • Determine the objectives and measures upon which the project will be evaluated at its completion
  • Work with internal team and hired designers/consultants to establish initial design, specification accuracy, drawing, and tender accuracy
  • Assess and contract qualified consultants and engineers to work on the project as appropriate
  • Execute the project according to the project plan
  • Document project activities
  • Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure successful completion on time and on budget
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets Southbridge standards
  • Write reports on the project for management
  • Monitor and approve all budgeted project expenditures
  • Manage all project funds according to established accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget, and at the required level of quality
  • Evaluate the outcomes of the project as established during the planning phase
Requirements:
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in project management, construction, planning, and management
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and tools
  • Proficiency in the use of software for scheduling, budgeting, and MS Office
Working Conditions:
  • Project Managers usually work in an office environment, but the purpose of the project may sometimes take them to non-standard workplaces, including travel for regularly scheduled site meetings
  • Project Managers work a standard work week but may be required to work some evenings and weekends to meet project milestones
