Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update payroll data for both new hires and existing staff, ensuring accuracy in exemptions, insurance, savings deductions, job titles, and departmental transfers.
  • Work closely with accounting and human resources to maintain data integrity.
  • Process various payroll cycles utilizing Ceridian Dayforce software for hourly, salaried, and unionized employees.
  • Provide exceptional service by addressing payroll inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Oversee employee and employer benefits programs, including health, dental, insurance, and RRSP contributions, in accordance with employment agreements and company policies.
  • Prepare Records of Employment (ROE) as necessary and generate T4s at year-end using Ceridian software.
  • Input payroll journal entries into the accounting system.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations of remittances.
  • Administer and uphold group benefits plans, ensuring compliance with eligibility criteria and effectively communicating plan details to eligible parties.

Qualifications:

  • At least three years of experience in a similar role.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce or comparable payroll systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines.
  • Experience in hospitality, construction, leasing, or property management is advantageous.
  • PCP certification is a plus.
