About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Specialist to join our innovative reinsurance finance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in building processes for complex reinsurance accounting activities, contributing to improve closing activities, and driving multiple process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform analysis of complex reinsurance instructions, provide key recommendations in the preparation of complex reinsurance journal entries, and ensure the accuracy of financial results under your responsibility.
  • Perform key reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of the reinsurance balance and perform reinsurance settlement with key reinsurers.
  • Provide insight and recommendations to your leader about reinsurance results.
  • Ensure to implement, perform, and improve all key controls to ensure high-quality improvement provided to our leader.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure alignment in the month-end closing process.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Finance or Accounting is required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards, or finance-related positions.
  • Experience in Insurance/Reinsurance accounting is required.
  • Involved in Finance and Accounting project work.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in a fast-learning environment requiring agility and adaptability to change.
  • Discipline, autonomy, and professionalism.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can interact with various people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders.
