Job Summary:

The Chief Engineer is a critical role within our dry-bulk fleet, responsible for the safe and proper management of the Engine Room Department. We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced engineer to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directly responsible to the Captain and designated Engineering Superintendent for the safe and proper management of the Engine Room Department.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including those related to safety, security, and environmental protection.
  • Manage and supervise a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the efficient operation of the vessel's engines and systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to ensure the vessel's engines and systems are in good working order.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of the vessel.

Requirements:

  • First-Class Engineer, Motor Ship issued by Transport Canada.
  • STCW Certificates.
  • Marine Medical issued by Transport Canada.
  • Canadian passport or permanent residence status.
  • Ship Security Officer.
