Job Title: Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at The Canada Life Assurance Company. As a key member of our IC Tech division, you will play a critical role in the development, support, and maintenance of our software applications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software applications
  • Provide production support and application monitoring and tuning for applications
  • Participate in project planning and lead a team of Technical Professionals
  • Provide input into the evolution of the software development environment and methods
  • Participate in a daytime queue rotation to support and troubleshoot issues with our applications
  • Contribute to the elimination of problems through permanent fixes
Requirements:
  • Degree/diploma in a related discipline (computer science) or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Training or knowledge and experience with various development languages, databases, and software design methodologies
  • Ability to work both individually and as part of a team, plan and organize your own work, communicate effectively in writing and verbally, and demonstrate initiative and leadership skills
