Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Specialist to join our team at The Canada Life Assurance Company. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our software applications and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, integrate, test, and transition software applications to production
  • Provide production support and application monitoring and tuning
  • Participate in project planning and lead a team of technical professionals
  • Provide input into the evolution of the software development environment and methods
  • Contribute to the elimination of problems through permanent fixes
  • Manage tasks and assist other group members
  • Complete scheduled maintenance, legislative changes, and changes to optimize and streamline the existing application inventory
  • Troubleshoot application problems and maintain an inventory of expertise for identified problems
Requirements:
  • Degree or diploma in a related discipline (computer science) or equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work effectively as a member of a larger, multi-disciplinary team
  • Familiarity with various development languages, including APIs, SQL, Azure, and other web-based solutions
  • Familiarity with various databases and experience working with different technologies
  • Experience as part of a queue rotation, handling calls, and working with incident-based software
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Demonstrated initiative and creativity
  • Ability to work remotely
