Job Title: Associate Director, Medical Writing

Job Summary:

The Associate Director, Employment and Community Programs, is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight to employment and community-based programming at the YWCA Metro Vancouver. This role involves leading a team of professionals, developing and implementing programs, and ensuring operational success.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership and Program Development: Provide leadership and oversight to employment and community programs, ensuring targets and deliverables are achieved and programs are aligned with the YWCA's mission, vision, and values.
  2. Program Management: Manage budgets, ensure different funding streams are utilized appropriately in multi-funder projects, and oversee facilities, leases, and leasehold improvements as required.
  3. Team Leadership: Coach, lead, and supervise managers, including youth education and youth employment managers, and develop and maintain operational and strategic partnerships in the community.
  4. Community Engagement: Continuously assess the intersectional needs of clients in communities served and identify opportunities for expansion, and work in conjunction with the Director and senior leadership to implement strategies, pivot programs, and evolve practices to ensure program success and accountability.

Requirements:

  1. Education and Experience: Master's or Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline with at least 5 years' experience in a leadership role responsible for decision making and strategic direction or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  2. Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated ability to work in a senior leadership capacity working with youth and/or clients with intersectional needs, competence in program management, employee management, financial management, and budgeting, and strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
