About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As an active member of the patient care team, you will work collaboratively with therapists to help educate and promote movement, occupation, and function for individuals, families, and groups.

Under the direction of the Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and proficient delivery of interventions assigned by therapists for patients coping with limitations in movement and daily function. You will also check and clean equipment, maintain treatment and storage areas, and may order necessary supplies.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in rehabilitation and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Grade 12 or GED
  • Rehabilitation Assistant Program (including Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy components)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational ability to complete assigned work and manage changing staffing and caseload levels
  • Knowledge of proper body mechanics
  • Demonstrated basic computer skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Access to reliable transportation
Hours

This is a permanent, part-time (50%) position with 37.5 hours bi-weekly.

Compensation and Incentives

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive hourly rate of $22.84 - $25.95. Additionally, they may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
