Position Overview

The Big Dollar Inc. is seeking a dedicated Accounting Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accuracy in our accounting processes. This is a permanent position requiring a commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Management: Calculate and prepare cheques for employee payroll.
  • Asset Management: Assess fixed assets and manage depreciation.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain comprehensive financial records and balance various accounts using both manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Oversee general ledgers and prepare financial statements.
  • Journal Entries: Post journal entries accurately.
  • Reporting: Generate statistical, financial, and accounting reports as needed.
  • Tax Preparation: Prepare and file tax returns.
  • Trial Balance: Prepare trial balances of books.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy.
Technical Skills

Proficiency in the following software is essential:

  • MS Excel
  • MS Outlook
  • MS Word
  • QuickBooks
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
Work Environment
