In this pivotal role, you will become an integral member of the Detection, Automation, Engineering & Response Team (DA3RT). Your primary responsibility will be to develop and sustain tools that automate repetitive security tasks, enabling cybersecurity analysts to focus on more intricate challenges. This position demands a strong background in automation, scripting, and a comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles. Experience with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) is highly desirable.

Collaboration and Interaction:

As a Security Operations Engineer, you will engage with various departments across the organization, including Security Operations teams, Detection Engineers, and Security Engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions to enhance the efficiency of repetitive security operations.
  • Work closely with Security Operations analysts of diverse experience levels to identify workflow requirements and challenges.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and other stakeholders to establish and implement an automated rapid response strategy to safeguard our extensive technological landscape.
  • Develop automated alerts and responses to identify potential security incidents.
  • Keep updated on emerging security threats, advancements in technology, and trends in cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and big data.
  • Provide training and support for the effective use of automated tools and processes.

Qualifications for Success at LastPass:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Security Automation Engineer.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell, along with automation frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and automation technologies.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • General knowledge or experience in DevOps or Platform Engineering.
  • Familiarity with Penetration Testing, Red Teaming, or Threat Hunting concepts.
