In this position, you will take charge of investigating, assessing, and resolving significant or intricate property claims, including those of a questionable nature, from initiation to conclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations, evaluations, and resolutions of substantial or complex property claims, including settlement discussions and first-party litigation.
- Verify policy coverage by ensuring that the details of the claim align with our claims guidelines.
- Maintain comprehensive file documentation by inputting relevant information into the designated systems.
- Engage appropriate vendors within established protocols.
- Collaborate with and involve the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and the Strategic Data Quality Program (SDQP) team when necessary.
- Process claims payments within your authority after confirming the claimant's eligibility.
- Identify all subrogation and salvage opportunities.
- Mentor junior adjusters as needed throughout the investigation process.
- Manage additional claims assignments or projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Proven organizational, negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills are crucial.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, along with analytical and organizational skills.
- Professional, approachable, and courteous in all interactions with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
- Team-oriented with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
- Over 10 years of experience managing commercial and personal property claims, demonstrating growth and proficiency in handling large, complex claims.
- In-depth knowledge of personal and commercial insurance wording.
- A university degree in any field. A college diploma in a relevant discipline from a recognized community college and/or the CIP/FCIP designation is mandatory.
- Atlantic licensing is considered an asset.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $54,000 - $100,800.
