The Corporate Information Technology Department is in search of a skilled Business Analyst to collaborate with various business units throughout the organization, alongside IT Project Managers and other essential stakeholders.
(Permanent, Full-time; 75 hours bi-weekly)
Are you an experienced IT Business Analyst with a proven track record in leading projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing processes and systems? We seek a proactive, results-driven individual who can easily adjust to shifting priorities while consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the IT Strategy and Planning Manager, your role will involve capturing, analyzing, validating, and documenting business workflows, translating them into application and operational specifications. Your advanced interpersonal skills will be crucial in building relationships and effectively engaging with stakeholders to fully comprehend their needs and priorities. You will leverage your extensive analytical and problem-solving expertise to identify gaps and recommend technological solutions. This will complement your experience in developing business cases and assisting departments in making informed decisions regarding recommendations. As a collaborative team member, you will support IT Project Managers in strategizing and executing improvement initiatives, employing best practice change management techniques to guide departments through implementation phases.
Qualifications and Skills
- A strong focus on customer service and relationship-building, characterized by a collaborative, responsive, and supportive approach.
- Demonstrated success in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business Administration, or Information Systems.
- Preferred certifications include Business analysis (e.g., CBAP), Business process management, ITIL, and Change management.
- Other combinations of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
- Over 5 years of relevant experience, ideally within a large organization with diverse business sectors, including expertise in:
- Best practices for process and technical requirements gathering and documentation.
- Conducting gap analysis, modeling, and methodology development.
- Utilizing various stakeholder engagement tools such as workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, user cases, and scenarios.
- Creating business case documentation, scope documentation, process flows, integration maps, and network infrastructure maps.
- Documenting requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly formats.
- Supporting delivery teams during the development, testing, and deployment of solutions.
- Reviewing output from delivery teams to ensure accurate interpretation of requirements.
- Defining and executing test cases.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Outstanding listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
Compensation: $43.96 per hour (subject to current collective agreement negotiations).
Work Schedule: 75 hours bi-weekly.
