Position Overview

This role is integral to the rehabilitation team, reporting directly to the Manager of Professional Practice and collaborating closely with the Clinical Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist physiotherapists and occupational therapists by executing designated tasks and offering various patient support services.
  • Perform administrative duties, manage inventory of supplies, and ensure cleanliness and maintenance of equipment.
  • Engage with patients and their families, contributing to rehabilitation efforts aimed at maximizing each patient's functional capabilities through structured therapeutic programs.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary patient care meetings, specialized team discussions, and oversee student interns as required.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a two-year Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist Assistant program from an accredited Canadian community college, with dual certification as both an occupational therapy assistant and physiotherapy assistant.
  • Preference for candidates with a minimum of two years of recent clinical experience in adult physical rehabilitation, including geriatrics.
  • Proficiency in English, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating excellent time management and organizational abilities.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Physical capability to perform job-related duties, with knowledge of body mechanics to mitigate musculoskeletal injuries.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and education.
  • Proven reliability and strong attendance record.
  • Willingness to travel and work across various facilities as needed.

Additional Information:

This position involves working days and evenings, with shifts of 8 hours, including weekends and holidays, subject to operational needs.

Compensation:
Minimum: $32.47 per hour
Maximum: $35.13 per hour
