Job Title: Electric Motor Tester - Night Shift

We are seeking a skilled Electric Motor Tester to join our team at Sherwood Electromotion Inc. in a night shift position. As an Electric Motor Tester, you will be responsible for performing final inspection and quality control testing work on a variety of AC and DC traction motors, generators, motor alternators, and blowers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical tests (Insulation Resistance, Hi-Pot, Surge, Resistance, Bar to Bar, Impedance) and mechanical measurements as they relate to motor fault analysis, test bed setup, and operation with related computer functions.
  • Read and understand motor coil and wiring interconnection diagrams and their preparation.
  • Operate various equipment, including test beds, computer systems, cranes, profiler machines, and ITR's.
  • Knowledge of AC and DC drivers and motor control systems, motor construction, and acceptance criteria according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Understand motor concepts, principles of total indicator run-out and alignment, and safety requirements for testing.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12 technical school education or equivalent in electrical engineering technology.
  • Considerable mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • One year experience in a related industry.
