About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Security DevOps Lead to join our team at Scotiabank. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for maintaining the production support and day-to-day operational activities for all environments, as well as DevOps processes for one of the largest digital customer identity and access management (CIAM) services in Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage our operations and production support team, optimizing their workflow and mentoring direct reports to maximize business and technical efficiencies.
  • Manage escalations and incidents, modifying established procedures to suit specific situations, including 24x7 support and coordination of recovery efforts.
  • Oversee and enhance current DevOps processes and practices.
  • Ensure all Scotiabank IT regulatory and compliance procedures are met.
  • Lead by example to develop operational plans and procedures to improve service delivery time-to-market and system reliability.
  • Measure and optimize system performance to push our capabilities forward.
  • Participate in defining SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for Enterprise Systems.
  • Partner with development teams to address outstanding production issues and rollout fixes.
  • Work with Scotiabank infrastructure teams to maintain and support infrastructure and services upgrades and software currency initiatives.
Requirements
  • You've been either an operations lead or manager or lead SRE in a large product team and seen how different software components of a complex architecture come together to deliver highly available and mission-critical services for the business.
  • Experienced in building a highly automated production monitoring and support model, hands-on experience integrating Splunk, Ansible, Dynatrace, Sumologic, Service now, PagerDuty or equivalents.
  • Experienced in DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins etc.).
  • You have sound knowledge on networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, OSI Model), multi-tier applications, microservice architecture, cloud-hosted software stacks, and proficient in one or more of these scripting languages - Ansible, Terraform, Bash etc.
  • Strong working experience with incident management and setting up monitoring alerts.
  • A proactive approach to spotting problems, areas for improvement, and performance bottlenecks. Be self-motivated, autonomous, and a team player in a fast-paced environment.
  • You are an excellent communicator, planner, and visioner, able to influence decision making across stakeholders. You can map and execute tactical and strategic plans for the team.
  • You have competency to lead team members with differing opinions and levels of experience.

  • Experience in Identify and Access Management (IAM) Domain.
  • Familiarity with IAM vendor products like Forge Rock, Ping Identify, Okta, Auth0 and likes.
