Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and empathetic individual to join our team as a Veterinary Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional customer service, supporting our veterinary staff, and contributing to the overall success of our hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that clients and their pets feel welcomed and appreciated.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments, admitting and discharging pet patients, and processing payments.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties, maintaining a clean and organized reception area, pet holding areas, and common areas.
  • Use a computer-based booking and records system to manage client information and appointments.
  • Assist the veterinary staff with various tasks and treatments, including veterinary services and medical office procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills and a real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software systems.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Veterinary Assistant (VA) or Veterinary Assistant Office Administration (VAOA) program certificate an asset.
