Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Manager - Stations to join our team on the GO Expansion Program. As a key member of our Programme Delivery Partner team, you will be responsible for providing design management support to the Stations Portfolio, ensuring the best outcomes for the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the design team through the scheme / production design stage and the delivery team through into implementation.
  • Develop recommendations for proposed projects consistent with strategic plan and business objectives.
  • Represent the client at periodic design review meetings.
  • Develop a detailed design programme with all relevant parties to satisfy design, procurement and construction requirements.
  • Review and comment on the design for completeness, buildability, potential quality issues, potential lead time problems, scope packaging and other similar issues in conjunction with the Mace project team.
  • Chair coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders during design development.
  • Chair / attend regular internal design meetings.
  • Manage the RFI and NCR process.
  • Ensure design is compliant with statutory requirements and applicable standards.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A degree in architecture or engineering, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent.
  • Extensive professional design management experience including railway stations design.
  • Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes in the construction sector.
  • Deep construction and consultancy expertise.
  • Knowledge of standards, construction contracts, professional appointments, and Health & Safety legislation.
  • Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  • Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
