Job Title: Senior Workplace Interior Design Professional

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Workplace Interior Design Professional to join our team at Recruitment By Design. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for leading interior design projects from conception to completion, working closely with our sales teams to deliver exceptional results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases of the design process, from project conception to working drawings, contract administration, and project closeout.
  • Prepare working drawings for the construction of large commercial office spaces, collaborating with design team members to ensure attention to detail, finishes standards, specifications, and schedules.
  • Work on concurrent interior design projects, independently and as part of a team, overseeing and guiding junior designers and delegating work.
  • Ensure CAD standards, quality assurance, and quality control procedures are followed during drawing planning and production.
  • Coordinate with outside project consultants, such as lighting, mechanical, electrical, structural, signage, etc., to complete well-coordinated projects.
  • Efficiently create excellent feasibility studies.
  • Meet project timelines and budget requirements.
  • Collaborate in the development of concept design through planning, sketching, rendering, and creating specialty finishes.
  • Build and maintain close client relationships and strong relationships with contractors/networkers.
  • Guide, mentor, and train members of the design team and delegate work to junior staff.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant North American interior design experience in commercial design.
  • Interior design graduate with a 4-year Bachelor's degree or diploma from an accredited interior design program or equivalent in Architecture.
  • NCIDQ designation is an asset.
  • ARIDO Membership in good standing is an asset.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD (version 2015 or higher), Revit (version 2015 or higher) is an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Extensive experience preparing complex working drawings and construction documents and in the design of commercial office spaces.
  • Fully competent in construction and Contract Administration processes with rigorous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and construction regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal in the English language, to allow for effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Positive attitude, confident, focused, and responsible.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience.
  • A valid driver's license and access to an insured vehicle.
