Purchasing Agent Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team at Clipper Ship Supply Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for purchasing general and specialized equipment, materials, and business services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Purchase equipment, materials, and services from suppliers
  • Develop specifications for equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Negotiate offers from suppliers
  • Consult with suppliers to ensure timely delivery
  • Review quotations and determine contract terms and conditions
  • Monitor progress of delivery schedules
  • Resolve problems with clients and suppliers
  • Plan and oversee operational logistics
  • Internal audit and quality control
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and accounting software
  • Specialized environmental skills and knowledge
  • Basic security clearance and valid driver's license
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure
