Compensation Range: $32.00 to $40.00 per hour (Hourly rate determined by education, experience, skills, and alignment with market data.) This role includes a competitive benefits package. For more details, please refer to the Employee Benefits section on our main careers page.

Your responsibilities

Technicians are tasked with performing routine inspections, testing, servicing, and preventive maintenance on electrical, sprinkler, or suppression life safety systems, as well as comparable products from other manufacturers.

Your approach

  • Engage with low voltage wiring and related devices for low voltage equipment operation.
  • Complete service acknowledgments with accurate coding using communication devices such as laptops and/or hard copies.
  • Adhere to a structured inspection schedule. Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via laptop.
  • Carry out minor repairs with minimal oversight.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned inspections.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Who we seek

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of documented experience in fire and/or life safety systems.
  • ASTTBC Certification in: Fire Alarm Systems (AL), Unit Emergency Lighting (EM), Portable Fire Extinguishers (EM), Water-Based Systems (WA).
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Limited travel to customer sites may be necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in interpreting blueprints, diagrams, specifications, and operational manuals.
  • Familiarity with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
  • Proven aptitude for troubleshooting systems and executing necessary repairs.
  • Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions.
  • Proficiency in using PCs, including knowledge of MS Excel/Word and mobile applications.
  • Capability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving equipment up to 40 lbs.
  • Able to work in challenging positions, such as climbing ladders and working in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer needs.
  • Exemplary customer service skills.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work independently.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
  • Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and a quick learning ability.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license that meets company standards.
