KPU is committed to fostering a culture of transparency and accountability. As a Privacy Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the University's compliance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) to identify and mitigate potential risks to personal information.
  • Provide expert advice on privacy and access to information legislation, including FIPPA and related policies and procedures.
  • Respond to access to information (FOI) requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement policies and procedures that promote a culture of privacy and transparency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • 1-3 years of experience working in a similar role or in a legal/regulatory environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of privacy and access to information legislation, including FIPPA.
  • Experience coordinating, reviewing, and advising on PIAs and FOI requests.
