Job Summary

We are seeking a world-class Network Systems software engineer to join our team. As a Network Systems engineer, you will collaborate with hardware engineers to design and build novel features that help Arista hardware run effectively and efficiently. You will write software that controls hardware components, including temperature sensors, fan controllers, power controllers, storage devices, FPGAs, NICs, and PCIE switches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop software that controls hardware components
  • Collaborate with hardware engineers to design optimal software control interfaces
  • Work with Customer Support Engineers and customers to analyze, mitigate, and fix problems in customer networks
  • Work with System Test Engineers to analyze problems found in their tests and provide fixes for those problems

Requirements

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • 2+ years of related post-graduate work experience
  • Knowledge of C, C++, and Python
  • Knowledge of UNIX or Linux
  • Understanding of IP networking and/or distributed systems
  • Applied understanding of software engineering principles
  • Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills
