About the Role:
Accoravillage is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an Animal Care Attendant. This role is essential in ensuring the well-being of animals in our care. As a part of our dynamic organization, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care and support to a variety of animals.
Position Overview:
In this position, you will report directly to the Animal Centre Manager. Your enthusiasm and energy will contribute to a collaborative team environment. You will engage in daily animal care responsibilities, ensuring that all animals receive optimal care in alignment with established welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment for all animals and facilities.
- Ensure that animal housing areas are kept in accordance with health and welfare standards.
- Monitor animal health and well-being through accurate record-keeping and daily logs.
- Provide proper nutrition and hydration to animals, including daily feeding and exercise.
- Perform grooming and bathing tasks as required.
- Treat all animals with compassion and respect, adhering to established welfare principles.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Strong customer service skills, including patience and a positive demeanor.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Team-oriented individual who builds strong relationships with colleagues and volunteers.
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
- Knowledge of animal breeds, characteristics, and common health issues.
- Prior experience in animal care or a related field is an asset.
- Genuine interest in animal welfare and advocacy.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding tasks, including lifting and moving animals.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Alignment with the mission and values of Accoravillage.
