Job Title: Systems Development Engineer I

At KNG Technical Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Systems Development Engineer I to join our team. As a key member of our R&D team, you will play a critical role in driving the integration of instrumentation to develop innovative products for the human diagnostic market.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze, design, and test automated diagnostics instrumentation from a systems engineering perspective, including liquid handling and Fluorescens scanner devices that integrate with our proprietary software to run diagnostic test consumables.
  • Develop and verify medical device scripts that connect and control third-party automated hardware components, adhering to FDA, Health Canada, and ISO 13485 regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Software Development Team to integrate instrumentation development, design improvements, and testing practices, utilizing Atlassian tools for version control and issue management.
  • Investigate and resolve reported system issues within the Quality Management System, including conducting root cause analyses and risk assessments, and planning and executing corrections and corrective/preventative actions.
Requirements:
  • Undergraduate degree in Systems, CS, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in biotechnology or medical device company, preferably with experience integrating automated medical devices.
  • Proven programming experience in C, C#, Python, and JAVA.
  • Knowledge of CAD and instrumentation design.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with programmers, engineers, scientists, and production management during the entire life cycle of system development.
  • Experience programming liquid handling platforms, including Hamilton, TECAN, or PerkinElmer.
  • Experience utilizing source code control.
