Role Overview
The Business Banking Manager will independently oversee a portfolio of business members within the designated region, focusing on their deposit and lending needs under the mentorship of a Senior Manager in Small Business Banking. Business clients typically have significant deposit and cash management requirements and are ideal candidates for cross-selling additional Coast Capital Savings (CCS) products and services. For borrowing needs, credit limits may generally not exceed $250,000, although they can be higher depending on the security provided. The anticipated distribution of responsibilities is approximately 90% Portfolio and Risk Management and 10% Business Development.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and execute assigned tasks to ensure timely completion and adherence to quality standards while consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
- Conduct effective risk monitoring and management of a portfolio of business clients through timely completion of annual credit reviews and ongoing oversight of banking activities.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and procedures, including audit reviews.
- Manage commercial loans and mortgage exposures by accurately recording limits in banking systems and securing necessary documentation.
- Foster growth in quality and profitable business with existing members and new clients referred by colleagues.
- Build and strengthen customer relationships by effectively onboarding clients to CCS.
- Enhance existing customer relationships through cross-selling of business products.
- Accurately process customer requests within specified timeframes.
- Deliver proactive, friendly, knowledgeable, and professional customer service.
- Prepare documentation for everyday banking, lending, and investment products.
- Identify and report potential risk issues.
- Understand and adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements.
- Prevent losses due to fraud, counterfeiting, money laundering, or defalcation.
- Develop and expand relationships with existing business members.
- Collaborate actively with other business partners and branch contacts.
Candidate Profile
- 4 to 6 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience in financial services, particularly in lending, commercial banking, portfolio management, and business development.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Business/Commerce, MBA, or other relevant qualifications is preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of commercial products, including credit and deposits.
- Basic knowledge of financial statements, accounting principles, and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with commercial credit analysis, policies, security, and legal procedures.
- Basic understanding of deposit and cash management products.
