Role Overview:

As a Licensed Home Child Care Provider at Compass ELC, you will collaborate with a team of passionate and dedicated educators. Your role will involve engaging with children, families, community partners, and fellow providers to create enriching learning experiences. You are committed to early childhood education, emergent curriculum, and continuous learning. Your creativity and resourcefulness will be essential in developing learning opportunities and building meaningful connections.

Flexibility in Your Business:

As a Licensed Home Child Care Provider, you have the autonomy to design your own program and set your schedule, whether it be part-time, full-time, or during evenings and weekends.

Capacity Requirements:

As a Licensed HCC Provider, you may care for up to children under the age of years (with a maximum of under the ages of months). This includes your own children under the age of (if your child is in kindergarten, they are not included in the ratio).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and facilitate play-based activities that reflect children's interests.
  • Observe and document children's developmental progress.
  • Build strong relationships with families and involve them in the learning journey.
  • Collaborate with other Providers, Families, Community Partners, and Children.
  • Ensure children's safety by recognizing and addressing their diverse needs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for all equipment and materials.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Access to appropriate operational space for up to children (including areas for play, meals, sleep, and outdoor activities).
  • Experience working with young children.
  • Exhibit warmth and genuine interest in child engagement.
  • Own or have landlord approval for your home/apartment.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate effective behavior guidance techniques, including problem-solving and positive reinforcement.
  • Hold a valid Standard First Aid/CPR Level C certificate.
  • Provide updated immunization records or a signed medical exemption.
  • Complete a current Police Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last three months).
  • Have an active Food Handler's Certificate.
